One morning we were sitting at the table eating our breakfast and we just knew we wanted to get out and do something. Mark suggested to do another hike and we decided to go up to Salt Lake and do Ensign Peak. Mark had never done it before and so it was fun to go up as a family.
Jacob was a champ as usual and climbed the whole thing up and down. The kid has endless energy. He would honestly run the entire way if we let him! But he did take a little tumble right at the beginning on the sand and so he looked very "rugged" the whole way. We love our rugged little man.
Sarah was a gem and always does so well on the hikes too. It was a beautiful morning and we had a gorgeous view of downtown Salt Lake and the valley. We enjoyed talking about what an experience it must have been for Brigham Young and the other first settlers to go up there and lay out a plan for the Saints there and to come. It is beautiful to think about. And we are grateful we get to live in this beautiful valley right now.
