3 Months Old

Someone is THREE MONTHS OLD!

Seriously?! So cute - looks more like his Dad every day :)

Smilin'

Dancin'

And his go-to move nowadays: sucking on his hand

I will warn you now - I am going to take a moment to gush about my wonderfully, adorable, angel child.

I LOVE THIS BOY!

Seriously, Jacob is the best little boy I could have ever asked for.  I absolutely LOVE spending all day, every day with him.  He truly is a little angel baby.  I love him so much.  I feel so incredibly blessed to have this wonderful little boy and to be his mom.
Jacob is continuing to grow so much.  I feel like so much has happened with him this month.  I will continue to gush about him through pictures and video.  ENJOY!

Wearing his "Little Samoan" outfit that Grandpa and Grandma Clegg got him in Hawaii

Yep, he can hold his head up

The best I could get of him looking at himself in the mirror - he smiles every time he first sees himself - cracks us up!

I think this picture is so weird/creepy.  Mark thinks it is HILARIOUS!  Mark did this one night while I was holding him eating dinner.  Let's hope his hair doesn't look like that :)

I think someone is liking tummy time!

Just smiling in the grocery story!

Hi everybody!

New Callings

Yesterday, Mark and I were both sustained to new callings.  We were pretty THRILLED!  I had not been given a calling the whole time we have been in Denver and was really excited to finally have an opportunity to serve formally in a calling.  And we are BOTH heading to Primary!

Mark was called to be a Primary teacher and he has a GREAT partner!  No, sadly it is not me.  BUT, I was called to be the Primary Pianist.  I am excited to have an excuse to play the piano more and develop that talent, plus I get to silently laugh at all of the adorable things the little kiddos say and do.

YEA FOR PRIMARY!

Time Out for Women

This last weekend I had the opportunity to go to Time Out for Women here in Denver with some of my absolute favorite women!  It was a little crazy/wonderful how everything worked out but it was so perfect though.  It ended up being that my mom, my aunt, my sister-in-law, and a whole bunch of cousins all came.  Definitely not something I ever anticipated having so much family here, especially at one time, but I loved every second of it.  I didn't quite realize how much I was craving some girl time until they all came, and it was just absolutely wonderful!

The program was incredible.  I wish I could just tell everyone all of the amazing things that I was able to hear and feel.  I love Time Out for Women - you come away having laughed, cried and above all, fed by the Spirit.  It is wonderful and I would completely recommend making an effort to go if you can wherever you live.  I feel so recharged in all of my roles as a woman and felt like I walked away making many new goals.

LOVED IT!

Sleep...Oh Wonderful Sleep

Jacob is sleeping through the night!  Yes, that is correct!  I feel like this should be a headline somewhere.  Since I am pretty sure this isn't news worthy anywhere else, I suppose our blog will have to do.

This just in...

JACOB IS SLEEPING THROUGH THE NIGHT!

Can you tell I am excited?!  It's pretty great.  At first I just thought it was maybe a wonderful fluke thing that happened once (because he had done it once before a couple of weeks ago) BUT he has continued to do so the last four nights so I am hoping we have turned a magical corner.

YEA FOR SLEEPING!

Missionary Work

This last Monday, Mark's parents left to serve their second mission together for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  About a month and a half ago they were called to serve in the South Dakota Rapid City Mission.

I cannot even tell you how proud I am to have such wonderful examples of service in my family.  I never served a full-time mission for the Church, nor have I had any of my siblings serve missions.  I have had many friends and cousins which helped me better understand the sacrifice and the service they were giving but for some reason Gus and Darlene going has really impacted me a lot.

During Jacob's little short life so far, I have had many special and sweet experiences of his sweet spirit and his potential.  I'll tell you what - I LOVE being a mom.  There is no doubt in my mind that he is a son of God and I feel both overwhelmed and extremely blessed to be his mother here on earth.  I really hope I make my heavenly parents proud.

Thinking of the life that is ahead of Jacob, there is obviously a million unknowns.  I don't know what he is going to be when he grows up and I don't know the girl he will someday marry.  And I don't know if he will someday serve a mission.  However, I sincerely hope that when the time comes that he will be prepared and have a personal desire to be ready to say, "I'll go where you want me to go."

I have been overwhelmed with gratitude lately with all of this in mind, of Jacob's grandparents going to serve a mission.  Elder Jeffrey R. Holland said,

"What greater gift could grandparents give their posterity than to say by deed as well as word, 'In this family we serve missions!"

I am so grateful and blessed to have a wonderful second mom and dad that are giving this great gift not only to Jacob but to our other little kiddos that will someday join our family.  They have truly set an example - both by word and by deed.  Thank you so much.  Love and miss you.

BYU Football

Thursday night was the BYU Football Season's first game - so obviously, Mark was VERY excited.  For some odd reason, they weren't playing the game live online, so instead of waiting and watching it in the middle of the night, we held off and watched it Friday night.  We invited some of our friends over to watch the game and had popcorn and our traditional "Y" sugar cookies.  So glad we won and we are excited to watch the rest of the season.

-Side note: I was wearing all of my Aggie gear in support of Utah State - pants, shirt, the whole shebang, still an Aggie through and through! -

Just hanging out on mom and dad's bed before the game!

This picture cracks me up - is there ANY doubt that they are father and son?!
