Hospital Stay

We ended up staying in the hospital a little longer than normal.  I had an infection during labor from my water breaking so they had to keep me on antibiotics for a couple of days. 

But it was so much fun to just get to know our sweet, little boy.  The nurses and doctors were all so helpful and gave us a bunch of good tips. 

The day he was born we also decided on his name.  We wanted to wait to meet our little boy before we solidified on a name.  We had a couple names in mind but Jacob just seemed to fit perfectly.  Mark's middle name is actually Jacob also so it carries meaning for us in that way.  And Scott is my Dad's name and since I have always been so close with my Dad it meant a lot to me to be able to have my Dad's name given to my son.  So now my new favorite little boy gets to share names with my other two favorite men - what a lucky boy. 

Also, while we were in the hospital we finally were able to find out how Jacob's heart was.  His exam showed that he is absolutely perfect and there were no problems at all.  What a blessing. 

He loved to blow little bubbles from the very beginning - that and suck on his lower lip :)
