Clegg Family Reunion

This last weekend we had our first official Clegg Family Reunion!  It was a blast and I am so excited for this tradition to begin and to have time set apart every year for family togetherness - or as my Dad likes to call it - the triple F - Forced Family Fun :)

We drove up to Bear Lake (my favorite place in the world) Thursday afternoon and spent some time driving around town and visiting some of our favorite people at the Bear Lake KOA.

My parents rented a cabin in Harbor Village and we spent the evening settling in, eating a yummy dinner, and chatting on the back porch overlooking the lake.  My parents had a jar filled with several questions and we are went around and answered and had some really great conversations.

My Mom and Dad also talked about a "creed" that they had decided on for our family.  It is: No One Gets Left Behind.  My Dad shared several stories both from his growing up, to our growing up, back to our ancestors that illustrated why it is very fitting for our family.  We discussed the different layers that it has to mean both physically, mentally, spiritually, and emotionally.  I am grateful for a family that truly doesn't leave anyone behind.

Then Melina, Megan, Mark and I came inside and started playing Shake 'N Take and life was all fun and games until a mouse decided to join the party.  Now, I am not a fan of mice.  They are fast, scurry, can manipulate their bodies to get just about everywhere, and thoroughly creep me out.  However, the mouse scurried into the kitchen and where it went we never knew which definitely didn't give me the warm fuzzies.

We then discovered that there was also a dead mouse underneath the TV stand which my Dad and Mark were promptly told to dispose of.  Mark graciously picked me up and carried me to our room so I didn't have to watch and the night ended.

Lesson learned...nothing sucks the fun out of games faster than a scurrying mouse in the room.
